Alicia Ebbi

Presidential Candidate

Campaign Platform

I am running for President of the Faculty of Arts Students’ Association because I
believe FASA can do more to connect with students in a way that feels genuine,
accessible, and impactful.

Through my experience as Vice President Events, I have had the opportunity to
build spaces where students can come together, whether through initiatives like the
Art Exhibition for student artists, speaker series, puppy yoga, open mics, and
student markets. These events were not just about attendance, but about creating
moments where students felt part of a community. That experience has shown me
what works, what students are looking for, and where there is still room to grow.
As President, I want to take what I have learned about community building and
expand it on a broader scale. My goal is to strengthen how FASA represents
students, communicates with them, and creates meaningful impact across the
Faculty of Arts.

My platform is centered on four key priorities: representation, communication,
impact, and operational efficiency.

First, representation. FASA should reflect the diversity of the Faculty of Arts in a
way that feels real, not just symbolic. I want to strengthen relationships with
department representatives, student groups, and cultural organizations so that more
voices are included in the work we do. Students should feel like FASA understands
their experiences and is advocating for them.

Second, communication. A major challenge is that many students simply do not
know what FASA does or how to get involved. I want to improve how we share
information so it is clear, consistent, and easy to access. This includes being more
transparent about our work and creating more opportunities for students to give
feedback and feel heard.

Third, impact. I want FASA to focus on initiatives that genuinely add value to the
student experience. This means being intentional about the events and programs
we run and making sure they create opportunities for connection, support, and
engagement. Building community should not be limited to one portfolio. It should
be something that is reflected across everything we do.

Fourth, operational efficiency and financial growth. I want to streamline internal
processes and policies so FASA is not slowed down by unnecessary bureaucracy.
A more efficient structure will allow us to act faster and better support students. I
also plan to work closely with the Vice President Finance to pursue more
sponsorships and partnerships. Increasing our financial independence will allow us
to expand programming and reduce financial barriers for students.

I also believe in building a strong and collaborative executive team. Good
leadership means creating an environment where people feel supported and are
able to do their best work. When the team functions well, students feel the impact.

I am running because I care about the student experience and I want to build on the
work that has already been done. I want students to feel like FASA is something
they can turn to, not something they feel disconnected from. My goal is to help
shape a FASA that students recognize, trust, and want to be part of.
